24 September 2007

Welcome to the First Call for the 18th Annual National Guard Retiree’s Conference to be held at Camp Blanding, 27-30 March 2008. (This conference is open to all Retirees, of all branches of the military, Enlisted, and Officer). The registration fee of a mere $95 per person has been set. Three days in our (deluxe?) accommodations...three socials...three outstanding dinners...two delicious lunches...two breakfast buffets ...and three nights of quality entertainment from “SASS N BRASS”. The Theme this year will be “The 50’s and 60’s. We are planning a 50’s and 60’s Trivia Contest. Saturday night we will also have a best dress contest (dust off those poodle skirts and saddle oxfords). We will also have a silent auction as a fund raiser, so if you have items that you would like to donate please bring them with a suggested amount start bid amount.

How could you pass up three days of fun food and laughter for less than the cost of a one night room in Disney? We have day packages available for those who can not join us for the whole time. And we also offer a package for those living in the Blanding, Starke, and Keystone area and do not require billeting with a fee of $50.00 which covers all the food and entertainment, and for those of you that can only make the meeting on Saturday there will be no charge. So come join us for the day, the evening, or the whole weekend, and which ever you choose, you are guaranteed a great time. We thank every one for your understanding and support.

This year we will not have a scheduled golf tournament and will not use the pistol ranges. If any of you have a special craft making project, like quilting, knitting, flower arranging Christmas projects, wood and paint projects that you would like to show us, please bring your supplies for Friday craft day. Also bring along those card and board games. Most of all there will be plenty of time for socializing and time to renew old friendships and enjoy great food and refreshments. We will have plenty of accommodations available so mark your calendar and come and join us.

What a fabulous time we (you) are going to have. Why not sit down right Now and Send in your registration including the friends you want to bring with you. Although we booked all the houses and quarters, the accommodations will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis, with priority to those attending the most days so no one should need to stay in the Q Huts. Those bringing others with them may want to share accommodations, please indicate that on the registration form. Based on our estimated attendance, we can accommodate everyone; please only sign up for the days you will be there as we are required to pay for what we reserve. . If our response is greater than anticipated we have arranged accommodations at the Blanding Hilton. Come join us for an unforgettable time. If you are Registered and have a username and pass word…
